July 10, 2015: AMD is an American semiconductor company. It is world’s second-largest supplier of microprocessors based on the x86 architecture and also one of the largest suppliers of graphics processing units.

AMD has created a page on Windows 10 for its customers. Here AMD has confirmed that it is working on graphics drivers for Windows 10 and also stated that the existing driver packages for the company’s products are compatible with the technical preview builds. However after the launch of 9926 build our website readers have started reporting issues with device detection.

Many of Windows 10 technical preview builds users have reported it on Microsoft Answers forum that they are getting a “code 43” in Device Manager for their AMD graphics cards. Later on AMD has confirmed that the company is working with Microsoft to fix the issues on a priority basis.

Here are some points from AMD’s Windows 10 Information page

  • All AMD processors are compatible with the Windows® 10 technical preview.
  • All DirectX® 9-compatible (or higher) accelerated processing units and AMD Radeon™ graphics cards are supported in the Windows® 10 technical preview.
  • Specific legacy products (e.g., AMD Radeon™ HD 4000 series) may require use of drivers provided by Microsoft® through Windows Update with their Windows® 10 installation.

One thought to “AMD Windows 10 Drivers”

  1. I upgraded my Windows 7 machine to Windows 10 and it is working great. The only problem is that it keeps crashing on one high-end game.

Informed that my video drivers are the cause, I found them to be working properly, according to Device manager. But when I checked Events, it said Device PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68E1&SUBSYS_30001787&REV_00\4&210a641e&0&0048 requires further installation.

It is an ATI Radeon HD 5400 series video card.
